Art Inspired by Nature

Hi! Welcome to my journal where I'll share my musings about art, what inspires me, updates on new work, and more. If you haven't noticed already, my greatest inspiration is Mother Nature. She never ceases to amaze me!

One element of nature I've always been drawn to is topography and how it is represented in art. I'm fascinated by undulating mountains, the depths of the deep blue sea, the contours of sand dunes. The geographic sites I paint vary from archipelagos, the top of Haleakala, a frozen tundra or even illustrating how red tide is infiltrating our oceans.

Isolating these topographies within an organic circular form feels grounding to me. Sometimes I add black and white sea salt while the ink is still wet to add texture and further give the art a sense of being grounded.

I look forward to expanding my series titled, "Grounded," to further explore imaginary landscapes, invented territories, and real places inspired from my travels.
